I see cars lined up on Rosedale when I pass but what’s all the Fuss? I hear folks talking about the new BBQ place on Rosedale, but I tune them out; I’m a Texas Native and I know BBQ. In Texas we’re BBQ Connoisseurs but I’ve never heard of Tri-tip before moving to Bakersfield. But I gave it a try anyway. I had the two meat combo, link sausage & chopped pork, and it was quite tasty. I was impressed, and the service was impeccable. So I left with my ego a little bruised. But I’m happy to know I have a great BBQ place close by. Famous Dave’s is located at 7777 Rosedale Hwy.

It’s like walking into a Cotton Candy Store for Girls. This Glam store is decorated with Chandeliers, Vintage Dressers, and Shag Rugs, to make your little Princess feel comfortable. The clothes are too cute! They have True Religion, Miss Sixty, unique tutu’s and much more, from newborn to 16. I always enjoy perusing the aisles at Lassen’s. Talk about Healthy! My arteries feel less clogged when I leave. I met a friend for lunch today, don’t let the facade of meat fool you, because the black pepper steak and stuffed pepper fooled me. I’m a carnivore, so I didn’t think anything would fancy me, but it did. I had the Thai Peanut Tofu, Certified Organic Salad and BBQ Vegetarian Chicken. And it was Delicious! The texture of the tofu was just like chicken. Tofu isn’t all they have for lunch. Lassen’s is located at 4308 California Ave.

Fresh & Green makes it cool to be Eco Friendly. Before entering their store I knew a little about being Green, but after a tour and some Eco Friendly 101 basics I’m convinced that Green is the way to go. You wouldn’t believe the products they carry and how they have been recycled. Where does someone get the idea to use Elephant Dung as paper? My favorite items were the solar panel backpacks, used to recharge cell phones, computers, etc.; and the bamboo towels. Fresh & Green is the center of all things Eco Friendly, even building a home. This morning I walked over to Camille’s Sidewalk Café for breakfast. Yes I walked to save a little gas. Camille’s took me back to NYC, when I would dash into a deli for a fruit cup or a Panini on the way to work. I loved the atmosphere. I ordered the Original Breakfast Wrap with bacon. I’ve never had a wrap, wrapped with tortilla and rice but I did today. It was like a breakfast Sushi Wrap. I enjoyed sitting on the patio, watching the traffic on Coffee Rd. and reading a magazine. They Cater and serve Smoothies, Sandwiches, Breakfast, Beer & Wine, and Pizza. They have all my NYC Deli favorites, Martinelli Apple Juice, fresh juice and fruit, and Panini’s. If you haven’t heard of Minky Dots, you’re out of touch with the baby scene. My sister just had a baby, my first Nephew ☺, that’s how I know all about Minky Dot fabric. She went crazy over finding Minky Dot pillows for the baby’s room. As soon as I entered Baby Me I was reminded of the popular Minky Dots. Wings, wings and everything! Wings To Go has 18 different sauces, from Mild to Caribbean Jerk. I enjoyed the hot and sweet & sour wings. Their wings aren’t over saturated in sauce and they have a little crunch, which I like. I don’t know why they call themselves Wings To Go, because they have much more on the menu. The fried catfish is my favorite. They have wraps, sandwiches, salads, shrimp, and chicken tenders. Wings To Go is located at 3615 Coffee Rd.
