Tonight at Tangerine we had the opportunity to see the new Fall 2008 Stella McCartney Denim Line with Brittany Byron Harvey, of Stella McCartney. There were so many cute Stella McCartney jeans. They have Silicone Coated, something I’ve never heard of but they feel great and look sexy on and are very similar to leather; Organic Blue is made with organic cotton and chemical free dye; Low-Cut; Detail Wax Charcoal; and a Skinny jean with buttons on the leg. I’ve never tried on a pair of Stella McCartney Jeans before so tonight was my chance to try every pair. I loved the Silicone Coated jean, but I decided to buy the Low-Cut straight leg pair. Every girl should have a nice fitting pair of jeans in their closet. It took me a while to spend over $100 for jeans, and now I’m spending upward of $200, and believe me there is a difference. They fit better, have great color and wash and make you look Bootylicious! ☺ I was excited about my new jeans and my Tangertini!! Tangerine always knows how to create a fashion buzz! Tangerine is located at 1602 20th St.

Every year annual and new attendees can’t wait for the Kern County Fair. The Kern County Fair is the epitome of Family Fun. As a kid I couldn’t wait for our Houston County Fair, so I know all about the anticipation. I always wanted to be in 4-H just to show a calf at the Fair. So at the Kern County Fair, I spent most of my time looking at the animals and longing for another chance to raise something to show. ☺ I always go to the fair on an empty stomach because I like to try everything; fair food is the BEST! The Kern County Fair is every September. For more information check out the Kern County Fair website.

Que Pasa is a cute downtown restaurant. Its décor is colorful, and the Bar seems like the perfect meeting place after work. I like that you order and pay for your food before you’re seated. They have a great menu, but they no longer have Tamales. I had beef nachos with all the trimmings. Que Pasa is located at 1310 19th St.

Toro Sushi Bar & Grill is a Chic Sushi Spot. It has a hip LA lounge feel with great food and an electric vibe. It’s a perfect spot to wow a first date, or to wind down on a Friday. I met some friends at Toro last Friday and we had a spectacular time. This spot was so much more than I expected. We ordered Diver Scallops, Ahi Tuna, and Grilled Shrimp. The food was great and the service was even better. And at 9 the DJ played some jamming lounge music. This is my new hang out!! Toro Sushi is located behind Rite Aid in the Market Place at 9000 Ming Ave. Suite 4-T.

Prime Cut Meats & Eats, make you think you’re on Bourbon Street. They have an extensive Cajun menu, with everything from Muffalatta’s to Gumbo. I found the food far from anything I’ve ever had in Louisiana, but they also have a market next door that has all my favorite non-cooked Louisiana foods, Crawfish Tails, Andouille Sausage, Boudin Links, Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning, and even Pat O’Brien’s Hurricane Mix. It’s so good to have a Taste of Louisiana right here in Bakersfield! They also cater, butcher and will deliver. Prime Cuts is located 9500 Brimhall Rd #100.

Lorene’s Restaurant is a local favorite. Lorene’s is a Country Style Diner with quality food. They have a range of home-style meals, from Chicken Fried Steak, Beef Liver, to salads and breakfast skillets. I couldn’t pass up the beef liver with grilled onions, Texas garlic toast, and mashed potatoes with gravy. Mmmmm Delicious! At Lorene’s you get hefty servings. This is a great place for a family outing. Lorene’s is located Downtown at 1531 23rd St. and Southwest at 6401 Ming Ave.

Country Rose Tea Room is nostalgic and picturesque. I felt like I should have worn a hat and gloves to the tearoom. Antiques and doilies created an unforgettable atmosphere. It’s the perfect girlie spot. I had the smoked garlic chicken spread on croissant, broccoli soup and the infamous rose tea and Butterfinger pie. The food was excellent! ☺ I can’t wait to go back! The Country Rose Tea Room is located at 163 H st.
